1 Topic selection direction
Journal of Silk widely reports achievements of domestic and foreign scientific researches on textile and silk, maintains a high academic level and scientific and technological content and gives full play to scientific and technological information communication function of the industrial platform with subject and market orientation as the entry point. Journal of Silk has determined the following scope of topic selection according to the 12th Five-year Plan and development needs of Chinese textile and silk industry: regard silk or chemical fiber filament fabrics as research object, serve silk discipline or apply with silk discipline and have referential research contents meeting the publication scope of this periodical, specifically as below:

1.1 Leading edge of textile and silk industry and development strategies
1) Industrial reform and development strategies and adjustment and upgrade of industrial structure.
2) Research and discussion on industrial management system, circulation system, foreign trade system and scientific research system reform.
3) Interview and discussion in respect of corporate system innovation, technical innovation, brand strategies and market strategies and introductions to successful experience.
4) Dynamic state of silk science and technology, report on important activities in the industry and overview on foreign silk development.
5) Development and application of information and internet technology in the industry.
6) Silk market survey and research on marketing strategies and consumption.

1.2 Theoretical study and technical application
1) Silkworm life science, chemistry and biotechnology.
2) Research and application of composite fiber and textiles of real silk and other materials.
3) Functional fiber and other new filament materials.
4) Promotion and application of new process and equipment for silk making and silk spinning and measures and practice for cocoon quality analysis and the improvement of raw silk quality.
5) Application of modern new preparation and weaving technology in silk knitted fabric, various kinds of filament blending and mixed fabric.
6) Research and development of new technology and equipment for dyeing, printing and finishing, ecological dyeing and finishing technology and relevant auxiliaries and their application in filament fiber and fabrics.
7) Standard and detection of silk products.
8) Research on wearability of textiles.
9) Clothing engineering (cutting-edge topics and development trend).

1.3 Design and product development
1) Theoretical, structural and artistic design of textiles.
2) Design of color, pattern, clothing and fabric.
3) Development of ecological textiles, home textiles and textiles for decoration, industry, tourism and present.
4) Research and application of silk fashion color.
5) Dyeing and weaving design (works show).

1.4 Industrial history and culture
1) History of silk industry and development history.
2) Weaving and dyeing, clothing and embroidery art and culture.
3) Archaeology and copy of ancient textiles and production tools.

2  Introductions to Submission 
2.1 Manuscripts are required to have prominent theme, specific argument, full and accurate content, accurate data, concise texts and correct use of simplified characters and legal unit of measurement.

2.2 Manuscripts should have a title no longer than 20 Chinese characters, an abstract with about 250 words and 3 to 8 key words, all of which should have both Chinese and English versions. If so required, corporate contributions may be translated by us on behalf. 

2.3 Manuscripts should contain the full name of work unit (both Chinese and English), detailed address (enclosed with sample mailing address), zip code, contact number, e-mail and brief introduction of the first author. Introductions to the author should include name, year of birth, gender, title, post, educational background and current work or research direction of the author. For contributions with more than one author of different units, please mark the work unit (both Chinese and English) and zip code of each author one by one. If required, corresponding author should be added with name, title and e-mail. 

2.4 For research funded by a fund program, please indicate the name of fund program and project number (priority will be given to major projects in publication). 

2.5 References should follow GB/T 7714-2005 Reference Description Rules. For details, refer to Reference Written Specification. 

2.6 Figure name, table name and references in contributions should be provided in both Chinese and English. 

2.7 Since 2013, Online Manuscript Submission System has been adopted. Manuscripts are required to have even lines, clear identification, appropriate black and white contrast of pictures and clear level and be free from dispute over copyright. 

2.8 The editorial department should be entitled to delete and revise manuscript accepted. If the author is unwilling to have manuscript deleted and revised, please make a statement in the contribution. Journal of Silk has been included in many domestic and foreign databases and payment for article has been included. If unwilling to have the paper included, the author should make a statement in the manuscript.

2.9 Once the paper is published, payment will be made as per the remuneration standard of our periodical office. Fees for publication paper will be collected appropriately (which will be exempted for excellent articles and corporate manuscripts) under the premise of manuscript acceptance. For urgent manuscripts, the author should make a statement when sending the manuscript. Emergency fee will be collected appropriately for urgent manuscripts. Special manuscripts will be handled as the case may be.
